Wailingding Island

Among the islands of Wanshan Archipelago, the 4.23-square kilometer Wai Lingding Island is small but glamorous which has become a frequently visited tourist attraction. Wailingding Island, also called Outer Ling Ding, is known for the poem "Passing Lingdingyang" written by Wen Tianxiang, the last resisting prime minister of the Southern Song Dynasty, on board a ship after being captured. He is also considered as one of the most famous symbols of loyalty and patriotism in China. Among the more than 140 islands of Zhuhai, Wailingding Island is special. You will be impressed by the clear streams, grotesque rocks and going to the clean sand beaches, and you can see through the blue clear sea. Lingding Apex, the highest peak on the island, provides a bird's eye view of scattered islands in the distance. Scenic spots on the island include the rolls of mountains, which are not high but elegant, the rock carvings, the ancient temples and natural views. Wailingding Island is also the political, cultural and economic centre of Dangan Township. The government has done a lot in beautifying all the scenic spots here and helping setting up tourism facilities. Linding Hotel and Tieneng Resort have been put into use. Hebao Island

Hebao Island is located in the southwest of Zhuhai city and the periphery of Ganlan Port, with a total area of 13 square kilometers and a population of 290 people, 66 households. It is also called Wallet Island, which was given by the businessmen of the Marine Silk Road in ancient times might with the purpose of praying for a prosperous business. Hebao Island is the coastal island on which ecosystem is preserved in best condition in Guangdong Province. Green vegetations around are obviously observed and many rarely-seen plants grow there, which make it a natural base for developing ecologic tour and education. There are eight bays in the island such as the Da Nan Wan, the Hidden Valuable Bay (gem beach), the Longtong Bay, and so on. There are 12 beaches, among which, the longest one, Dananwan Beach, is over 4,000 meters long. The clean water and soft sand make the beaches an ideal natural seashore playing field. Dong'ao Island

Zhuhai features a number of islands: Wai-lingding Island, Jiuzhou Island, Hebao Island, Qi’ao Island, Dong'ao Island, etc., among which Dong'ao Island is the most beautiful one where such tourist items as overlooking the ocean from the Honeymoon Pavilion, surfing at Nansha Bay, tracing historical relics in Chong City and diving in deep sea are feasts to tourists. Dong'ao Island is 17 nautical miles southeast of the downtown area. It encompasses 4.62 square kilometers with a permanent population of around 500. With forest coverage of 82 per cent, the island is called as "The Kingdom of Plants". A primeval ecological environment, numerous beaches with fine white sands, blue seawater and bright sunshine provide visitors a perfect place for vacation. There are three beaches on Dong'ao Island: Nansha Bay, Dazhu Bay, and Xiaozhu Bay, among which Nansha Bay Beach, is the most favored one. Nansha Bay Beach is also known as "Diamond Beach" with white, fine sands and clear seawater. The white beach extends into the distance with lush green trees on one side and the blue sea on the other, creating a fantastic scene. Villas in the thick forest in the mountainside are partly visible. Amusements here include hill hiking, scuba diving, swimming, fishing, or taking a cruise on a motorboat chartered at the island. Neolithic relics, remains of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, the lighthouse and rock carvings allow people to trace the progression of eras on the island. The well-built infrastructure includes a highway running throughout the island. Visitors can refresh themselves in the Son-Soliciting Springs, a famous spa. Guishan Island

A "PEARL" in the Lingdingyang Sea, Guishan Island boasts its extremely abundant tourism resources, fishery resources and the great significance in marine navigation of South China. The island occupies a significant location among Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Macao and Zhuhai City with only three nautical miles from Lantau Island in Hong Kong and 10 nautical miles from the new Hong Kong airport. The abundant harbors with deep water make it a perfect venue for building deepwater port with many berths and it has a national A-category pier now. The favorable location also bestows beautiful natural landscapes and distinctive tourism resources upon this island. Besides, Guishan Island is of significant historical note. The Monument to the Martyrs of Guishan Warship towers aloft in another park to denote the PLA's first battle in the campaign to liberate Wanshan Islands in the early 1950s. They can also enjoy ball firing at barracks on the island and regale with fresh delicious seafood at a seafront restaurant. Beyond that, Guishan Island is also known for marine cage farming that yields large quantities of groupers, white herrings and other aquatic products. Baili Island

Baili Island, previously a military restricted area, has been transformed into a hot holiday resort in Zhuhai featuring military and ecological tourism for the entire family. With distances of 18 nautical miles southeast from Zhuhai City, 29 nautical miles northeast from Hong Kong, 81 nautical miles north from Guangzhou, and 16 nautical miles northwest from Macao, this island plays an extremely significant role in the marine transportation among Hong Kong, Macao and the cities in Pearl River Delta area. It extends 3.8 kilometers long and 3.2 meters wide, with a total coverage of 8.026 square kilometers. The highest peak Baili stands 299.1 meters high, welcoming more and more tourists coming far and near.
